History

The
Key City Developmental League begins its first season of play in
the fall of 2006.
The
league has been developed to increase awareness and
participation throughout the Mankato area in Fastpitch Softball.
The
KCDL was originally talked about in April of 2006 with plans to
move forward.
The
first major step in beginning the league was hosting a regular
fastpitch tournament in June. Headed by current Key City League
Teams (current mens' league in Mankato Area), the tournament
drew 8 teams to Lake Crystal for the weekend.
With the money raised from this tournament, the KCDL had a
chance to become a reality.
The
league has four teams in it's first year and plans for even more
participation in 2007.
